EPC has been awarded funding for one year from Awards for All to provide the My Time Wellbeing Service.
The Service will support children and young people (5–18 years old), who are at risk of mental health issues, such as low self-esteem and confidence levels, anxiety, difficulties verbalising and regulating their emotions. The support will consist of 1-2-1 face to face, play therapy/counselling sessions.
Sessions will be 45 minutes in duration, once a week, for a block of 10 weeks and delivered at identified schools, during school hours and/from EPC offices. Parents/carers and external agencies can also refer to My Time Wellbeing Service. To make a referral please click on referral form.
The Service will also support the parent/carer of the referred child/young person with wellbeing through 1-2-1 face to face counselling and half term family activities focusing on healthy eating, exercise and art therapy.
Trainee Counsellors – Every Parent and Child
The counselling work is suitable for trainee counsellors currently studying a counselling or appropriate qualification; minimum Level 4 in Therapeutic Counselling/associated qualification – Social Work/ Psychology. Trainee counsellors must be prepared to commit to the service for a minimum of 6 months.
Trainee counsellors will receive an EPC induction, monthly 1-2-1 individual clinical supervision and case management, as well as, monthly group clinical supervision and free training. All referrals will be directed to the My Time Wellbeing Service Manager, who is responsible for allocating referrals to individual trainee counsellors.
